As a child, I was considered a difficult eater. I didn’t like certain foods because I was choking on it. However, my parents left me no choice and I was forced to eat. Soon I developed strategies to avoid having to eat it. I chewed a bit on it, made it into a sticky ball inside my mouth and then, when no one was looking, I spit it out in my hand and stuck it under the table. A fabulous technique. And the first joyful feeling of victory came over young Rayastre. Unfortunately, over time they found out and I was force fed from then on by doctors.
One day we had soup, and I saw fish swimming in the soup terrine. I was told it was vegetable soup but the fish were real. Violently they were trying to get out, creating slow motion waves. The time was going too slow and too fast at the same time. Very intense and this feeling was impossible to free myself from. I hovered above the dining table, like a child angel imitating the stillness of a hummingbird, while my mother, father and sister were enjoying this horrendous dinner.
